Hellbound Halloween Party
If you like spooky New England-themed stories, fantastic comics, crazy costumes and creative fun and games, you won’t want to miss “Hellbound: the Party,” a fundraiser/Halloween ball at Tommy Doyle’s in Harvard Square on Thursday, October 28th to celebrate the upcoming indy comic book, Hellbound.
Hellbound is a unique project, even in the unpredictable world of independent comics: a limited edition, giant-sized (13″ x 19″), silk-screened collection of one-page horror stories, all based on actual New England legends, printed in black and white and RED… and drawn by some of the area’s best comics artists. The gruesome narratives include works by Dan Mazur, Eric Boeker, E.J. Barnes, Nathan Boucher, Jesse Lonergan, Nathan Kitler, Lindsay Moore, Matt Stumpf, Charles Schneeflock Snow, Mark Slater, Line O, Jim Roldan, Joel Christian Gill, C. Che Salazar, Andrew Abbot, Aaron Drew and Nil Gulacsik.
Following this initial printing, a normal-sized offset edition will be available at local comics stores and shows.
To help launch this collection of illustrated madness, Hellbound‘s editors Roho and Joel Christian Gill of the Boston Comics Roundtable are inviting the public to an evening of enjoyably horrific revelry. Events will include sketch fighting (two artist compete on a battle of skills for glory and cake), zombie/monster caricatures and a costume contest in which the party guests will compete to win their favorite comics and more! And to cap the festivities off, the last 10 copies of the over-sized silk-screened edition of Hellbound will be auctioned off. All proceeds will go toward funding all of Boston Comics Roundtable’s publishing endeavors.
Like a scary comic book come to life, Hellbound will be a Halloween party you’ll never forget!
