    The Daily Beast has named “Comics: a Global History, 1968 to the Present” by Dan Mazur and Alexander Danner as one of its Best Coffee Table Books of the year. “For the aficionado or the neophyte, Comics is a useful overview of a richly creative period in a burgeoning art. And despite the good scholarship the authors have managed to retain the buoyancy and upbeat air attendant on most comics.”

    “Festival Season,” which was named the Best New Comics-Related Website of 2014 (by me, just now), has posted a rather  unusual Holiday Gift Guide.  Contributors include Jason Viola, Cara Bean and Kenan Rubinstein.  There are some comics you probably missed on this list – minicomics, anthologies, “graphic novels or whatever you want to call them” — and some refreshingly intangible comics-themed gift ideas as well.  Have a look!
