Cara Bean’s riso-printed accordion books are among the rewards you can get for contributing to the IndieGo Campaign for SAW: the Sequential Arts Workshop. SAW is Tom Hart’s comics school in Florida, where Lexington High’s Ms. Bean is currently matriculating. Sort of like CCS-south, and well-worth supporting!

“Comics Global History” a Beast Best
The Daily Beast has named “Comics: a Global History, 1968 to the Present” by Dan Mazur and Alexander Danner as one of its Best Coffee Table Books of the year. “For the aficionado or the neophyte, Comics is a useful overview of a richly creative period in a burgeoning art. And despite the good scholarship the authors have managed to retain the buoyancy and upbeat air attendant on most comics.”

Colonial Comics Cambridge Signings this Saturday
A contingent of contributors to the recent anthology Colonial Comics will be signing copies at Million Year Picnic on Saturday Dec. 20th from 3-5 pm. Signers will include EJ Barnes, A. David Lewis, John Bell, Chris Piers, Dan Mazur and editor-in-chief Jason Rodriguez. And there will be a free walking tour of Cambridge by by historian/comics writer John Bell at 4:00!
