Shelli Paroline and Braden Lamb have a new book in the work for First Second Books: “One Day a Dot,” a children’s picture book written by Ian Lendler. We’ll have to wait a while to see the book, which “takes kids on the longest journey ever travelled by a picture book – from the origin of the universe all the way to you,” but the creative team is interviewed at KidLitFrenzy.

Double Nickels Forever
Franklin Einspruch is among the contributors to the new anthology, “Double Nickels Forever,” edited by Warren Craghead III, the book is “a drawn tribute to the Minutemen’s Double Nickels on the Dime album. 58 artists drew the 45 songs on the double LP.” -
POV Hackathon Winner: The Dandelion King
The BCR’s Heide Solbrig took her project, “The Dandelion King,” a mobile app companion to her graphic novel of the same name, to the POV Hackathon, an event that provides “matchmaking and mentorship for visionary filmmakers and inventive technologists.” Heide came home with the Participants’ Choice award! Graphic Novel Industry Night at Emerson: tomorrow!
Shelli Paroline, Alexander Danner and Dan Mazur will appear on a panel for Emerson College’s Graphic Novel Industry Night. The event is from 6:00-7:30, Tuesday, November 18, at the Little Building, 80 Boylston Street in Boston (in the Charles Beard room). The panel will “will explore the differences between today’s comic books and graphic novels, look into the inspiration that drives comics creators and graphic novelists, and talk about the Boston-area comics/graphic novel community.”
