The “second season” of Boston Powers is already underway, and we will be funding this year’s three issues via Kickstarter — year one’s campaign was successful, and this year our target is LOWER, so hopes are high! Go on over and sign up to be notified on the launch:

This Thursday, 11 February, BCR’s regular meeting will have a special guest: Cambridge artist Bren Bataclan. He will be giving a presentation on his first book: FE: A Traumatized Son’s Graphic Memoir. Bren, the son of Filipino immigrants, found in the year of COVID that his usual business of mural-painting had vanished overnight. He turned his hand to telling the story of his mother, Fe, and having to grow up with her hoarding, narcissism, and volatility — as well as her surprising willingness to welcome Bren’s husband into the family. At this week’s BCR Discord meeting, Bren will share with us not only his story, but his creative process. Regular BCR meeting activities will follow, as time allows. The third issue of Boston Powers, the Boston Comics’ Roundtable’s series of Boston-based superhero comics for kids will be available on December 20th, and can be pre-ordered now. Featuring all-original characters created by local writers and artists, issue # 3 presents 5 more fun and fanciful, all-ages stories set in and around Boston.
