  • The Roundtable in the news!

    The Somerville News Blog has a fantastic writeup about our Wild Ink fundraiser event from this summer! Thanks to everyone who attended the party at P.A.’s Lounge in Somerville and who egged on the artists in the “Fastest Artist” competition.

    And the Boston Phoenix recently published a list of recommended graphic novels, which included a shout-out for The Ragbox, written by BCR founder Dave Kender and including art by Braden Lamb.   • Comics on the Radio

    Your radio just got very, very cool. This week, the Boston Comics Roundtable was invited into the studios of WBUR to talk about the upcoming publication of Inbound 4. The interview, led by Radio Boston host Jane Clayson, wraps up a special episode with a “Literary Boston” theme.

    But there’s more…. the producers of WBUR helped us stage a live action radio drama based on Cathy Leamy‘s comic “The Old Howard,” one of the stories featured in Inbound #4. Voiced by members of the Boston Comics Roundtable, complete with music and sound effects, it’s really amazing.

    The radio drama and the interview will air live on 90.9 WBUR in the Boston area on Friday, October 23rd at 1pm, and again on Saturday, October 23rd at 1pm. It will also be available online Friday afternoon at Radio Boston’s website. You can watch a video version of Leamy’s story right now on Radio Boston.

  • Gareth Hinds reading

    Gareth Hinds will be at Wellesley Booksmith on November 6 at 6pm to read from and discuss his graphic novel adaptation of Shakespeare’s King Lear. Come and enjoy a look into how graphic novels are made, and see a preview of Gareth’s upcoming work!

  • Dark Corners signing

    Hub Comics in Somerville’s Union Square is hosting a signing for two new comics anthologies, Dark Corners and Funny Aminals, on Saturday, October 17, from 7-9pm. Come and meet fun comics creators and get free gifts with purchase!

  • APE 2009

    Look for Boston Comic Roundtable at San Francisco’s APE, the Alternative Press Expo! The show is open on October 17 from 11-7 and October 18 from 11-6, and guests include Phoebe Gloeckner, Dean Haspiel, Batton Lash, and Jeff Smith. $10 admission for one day, $15 for two. See you there!
