Joel Gill’s collection of comics on unsung black history continues to rack up the honors, the latest being named a finalist for the 2014 Cybils (The Children and Young Adults Bloggers Literary Awards — it’s almost an acronym!), in the graphic novels for young adults category. “Comics Global History” a Beast Best
The Daily Beast has named “Comics: a Global History, 1968 to the Present” by Dan Mazur and Alexander Danner as one of its Best Coffee Table Books of the year. “For the aficionado or the neophyte, Comics is a useful overview of a richly creative period in a burgeoning art. And despite the good scholarship the authors have managed to retain the buoyancy and upbeat air attendant on most comics.”
