  • Boston Comic Con

    Boston’s Comic convention returns to the Back Bay Events Center (180 Berkeley Street, Boston, MA) for the weekend of October 24-25th. The show runs from 10am to 5pm with passes for $10 each day. Guests include: Tim Sale, Geof Darrow, David Mack and many more. Check out the Boston Comics Roundtable in the Artist Alley. More information is available at the BCC website.

    In addition, the Comicbook Artist Guild is hosting a post-con meet and greet on Saturday, October 24 at Clerys Bar & Restaurant on Dartmouth Street.

  • SPX 2009

    The Small Press Expo (SPX) SPX 2009 will be held the weekend of September 26 and 27, 2009 at the Marriott Bethesda North Hotel & Conference Center in Bethesda, MD, just one mile outside the nation’s capital, Washington DC. In its fourteenth year SPX now serves as the preeminent showcase for the exhibition of independent comic books and the discovery of new creative talent.

  • Wild Ink! BCR Fundraiser

    Join us on August 20 for Wild Ink, a live arts and music event! Sketches, caricatures, artist showdowns, raffle prizes, and music by Rotary! Proceeds to benefit the fourth issue of Inbound, our comics anthology! 9pm (doors open at 8) at P.A.’s Lounge in Somerville, MA. Tickets $12 at the door.   • MoCCA Festival 2009

    The Museum of Comic and Cartoon Art is hosting this year’s MoCCA Festival on June 6th & 7th at the 69th Regiment Armory at Lexington Avenue and 25th Street in New York City. Members of the Boston Comics Roundtable including Cathy Leamy, Shelli Paroline, Dirk Tiede and Braden Lamb will be exhibiting.

    General admission is $10/day or $15/weekend but is only $10/weekend for MoCCA members.

  • Maine Comic Arts Festival

    This festival celebrates the wonderful world of comic books, comic strips, graphic novels, web comics and more. The festival will feature a wide variety of comic creators, writers, artists and publishers. Located in the beautiful Ocean Gateway Building on the shores of Casco Bay in Portland, Maine.

    Live Comics, Live Music Event

    “Wild Ink,” a live arts and music event, will be held at P.A.’s Lounge on Thursday, August 20th. “Wild Ink” is a fundraiser for the Boston Comics Roundtable, and will include amazing live comics creation, artistic head-to-head showdowns, the world’s most unusual live sketch gallery, big raffle prizes, and live music from Rotary.

    Created in 2006, the Boston Comics Roundtable is a collective of comics creators in the Greater Boston area. Its mission: to network, teach, workshop, encourage, and publish the best and brightest artists and writers in the creation of comics. All proceeds will benefit the upcoming publication of Inbound #4, A Comics Anthology, featuring
    local artists taking on the strange but true history of Boston.

    The event begins at 8:30pm at P.A.’s Lounge in Somerville, MA (345 Somerville Ave., 617-776-1557). This is an 18+ show. Tickets are $12, paid at the door.
