Artist & Craftsman Supply (despite what I had thought) turns out to be a chain, but I still like it better than Pearl across the street:

I’m offering a class called the “Graphic Narrative” this summer at the Eliot School. If you are interested in unlocking some of the secrets of comic masters and trying your hand at sequential art, check it out!

Hi folks, It would be great if you could list some resources for kids interested in comics here. I spoke with one of your organizers at the Bizarre Bazaar and it sounds like lots of you teach classes for kids. Thanks!

  • Dave

@ Julie: We have several members that, as individuals, teach kids about comics. Send me an email (see link at bottom of page) and I can put you in touch with a few. We’ll be focusing some of our time in 2011 at building up the educational components of the Boston Comics Roundtable.

    Dave,

I would also be interested in the information about kids and comics – I am looking for classes or a camp for m 10-year-old this summer. – Lisa

It would be great if you could extend the list. Include some other big cities, not only Boston. I live in NYC and a list like this would be a big help for me 🙂

Two more comic specialty shops of note include Hub Comics, “the comics shop for NPR listeners,” at 19 Bow Street in Somerville’s Union Square (http://hubcomics.com/) and Comicazi, “seriously BAD-ASS comicbook stores!,” at 407 Highland Ave in Davis Square (http://www.comicazi.com/index.html).

    Hey There Bostoncomicsroundtable,
Thanks, on a related note, When I traveling to Boston I identified this unquestionably useful save but I can’t just remember the name.

It offered comics, motion pictures, new music and video clip game titles. I think it was a little something “comics”

    Hey guys,
I am a student at the Center for Cartoon Studies up in White River. I heard about your consortium, and was interested in participating. Even though I am in White River, I plan to move after school is over.

I have heard you are doing a superhero anthology and would love to contribute. What do I need to do?

I am also going to be at MECAFF, if you want a face to face meeting.

    Thanks,
    Mike Crosier

    • Dave

      Hey Mike,

We’re not ready to announce any details about the superhero anthology at this time. You can be sure that when we’re ready we’ll be making a big stink about it. I’m sure we’ll be reaching out to CCS, as well.

      – Dave

I am interested in locating an artist with which to collaborate on a story concept I have had gestating for over a year now. I recently had a HUGE breakthrough in the world creation and would love to throw this idea at someone. I am reticent to say more here than the protagonist is loosely based on the DC character The Creeper. I have run the idea by a professor of literature who is also a poet of some merit and his opinion was very favorable. The story is begging me to tell it.

Eliot School of Fine & Applied Arts, in Jamaica Plain, is seeking someone to teach Comics to ages 13-17 on Saturdays from 1-3pm starting Oct 5, 2013 and running throughout the school year. The setting is a community-based art center, low-key, where students come to experience the pleasures of craftsmanship and creativity. Email a resume, CV or bio plus some images or a link where we can see your work. We prefer someone with some experience teaching, but we’re open to training someone who is interested. Can you post a page where writers can find illustrators who are interested in working with writers? I am a writer and would like to collaborate with an experienced illustrator for a series of comic books. I realize I can browse through the gallery pages, but I did that awhile ago and could not determine who was looking for work / verses those already committed to a project. I would really like to find an illustrator who wants to team up with a writer. Thanks.

For this interested, I have been working on a documentary about the Million year Picnic, the nations oldest comic book store. I will be doing interviews in Harvard square just after thanksgiving (date and place not determined- Charles hotel most likely) and am trying to raise funds at indie gogo

if anyone want to help out or learn more about the project
